Scoring System

How Scoring Works

Zone-based scoring rewards progress. Every zone you reach earns points — and topping the boulder earns the most.

Zone Points

Each boulder has 3 zones with progressive point values. You score the highest zone you reach — zones are not cumulative.

Top Points

Topping a boulder earns 20 pts — the maximum. Top replaces zone points; it's not additive.

Attempt Deductions

-0.1 pts per extra attempt. First attempt is free.
(attempts - 1) × 0.1

Team Scoring

Each member climbs individually. All three members' scores are combined to form the team total — your crew's collective strength determines the outcome.

Scoring Example
ScenarioZoneToppedAtt.Points
Zone 1 only1No213.9
Zone 2 only2No117.0
Zone 3 only3No318.8
Topped3Yes120.0
Topped (3 att)3Yes319.8
No zoneNo50.0

How to read it: Zone 1 in 2 attempts = 14 - (2-1)×0.1 = 13.9 pts. Topped in 3 attempts = 20 - (3-1)×0.1 = 19.8 pts.
